Ellipsis, 2018, 12.75 in x 7 in x 2 in, ink and paint on cut paper and bookboard

August 2018:

Ellipsis, my most recent piece, is my first step towards breaking the box that has, for the past couple of years, enclosed my work. I want the cut strands to extend out beyond the frame and hang loose. I also want more atypical shapes: triangles, circles, eggplants, etc. And now that I’ve got a series going for the CRT style, it’s the perfect time to venture out with different shapes and forms. Expect future pieces to be more organic and either use different colors or actual drawings!
